One of Africa’s least-visited countries – and one of the most difficult to get around – Madagascar is working hard to increase its tourism infrastructure to match neighbours Mauritius and Seychelles.
With new resorts like Miavana opening up, and Nosy Be increasing in popularity, Madagascar Tourism aimed to increase visibility of the country as a destination via social media, and our goal was to grow from zero to 10k followers in 3 months, which we achieved.
Typical to Plus Alpha’s working style, we aimed to go well beyond the Avenue of the Baobabs to show the range of landscapes, wildlife and culture of this enormous country.
Our team spent six weeks driving and flying around Madagascar to capture content by air, drone, and on the ground, some of which have never been shot for social media before. We then worked on building an Instagram account for Madagascar Tourism called @my_madagascar, which has gone on to continue its momentum to pass 16k in January 2020.
